Trust & verification
Here is exactly what we check today, what we do not check yet, and what is still on the roadmap. We would rather under-promise than imply a check that isn't running.
What is running right now
Every listing requires a signed-in account, and every listing is put through an automated welfare and scam review before it appears. Enquiries are only possible from a signed-in account, so every message is attributable. Every record we create is sealed, signed and chained by the Sovereign engine.
Not running yet
Government-ID verification, microchip registry lookups, and direct vet-record confirmation are planned, not live. Until they are, microchip, vaccination and desexing details on a listing are self-declared by the lister.
The verification tiers
A person on our team has reviewed the listing and the documents the lister supplied.
Checks: Manual review of supplied microchip and vaccination paperwork. We do not yet query registries directly.
The default for every new listing — automated safety review done, human review not finished.
Checks: AI welfare and scam review only. All pet details remain self-declared.
The lister supplied the details and stands behind them; no staff check has confirmed them.
Checks: Nothing confirmed by us. Ask for paperwork before you commit.
No checks completed.
Checks: Nothing confirmed — treat every detail as self-declared.
The listing record is suspended, either by an admin or after a failed safety review.
Checks: Not available. It is hidden from browse and should not be acted on.
Something didn't line up; we've asked for more.
Checks: A detail requires correction before we review again.
Proof, not promises
Why a handover record can't be faked
Every agreement produced here is sealed, signed, chained, and anchored to a public head. It's the same engine that seals pet handover and vaccination records — proven to catch tampering at every level.
Seal
Every handover record is fingerprinted the moment it's created.
If a single field is edited later, the fingerprint no longer matches — the change is caught.
Sign
That fingerprint is signed with Perth Safe Pet's private key.
If someone rewrites the record and the fingerprint, the signature stops matching — the forgery is caught.
Chain
Each record points at the one before it, like links in a chain.
Removing or altering any record breaks the next link — the gap is caught.
Publish
A single head hash that covers every record is published openly.
Change anything, anywhere, and the public head changes — the whole world can see it.
Result: edit a field, rewrite the hash, swap the signing key, or slip a record in between two others — each attempt fails a different check. The record either verifies cleanly or it doesn't. There is no in-between.

Identity checks, when they arrive
Document-based identity verification is not switched on yet. When it is, the check will be run by a third-party provider so Perth Safe Pet only ever receives a pass or fail and a hashed reference — no human here would see your documents. Today, accountability comes from requiring a signed-in account for every listing and every message.
